How I wash stinky socks, dirty sheets, and gross towels WITHOUT laundry detergent

My two-year old recently got sick.
And she had a major diaper blowout all over her bedsheet. As you can imagine, it was quite a smelly and gross little affair.
You can see the sheet where it happened in the photo to the right. But what you CAN’T see is the original mess. Because I cleaned it right away, and got the sheet as fresh and odor-free as it ever was.
And here's a secret. Even though this sheet was seriously gross, I did not use any kind of laundry detergent to wash it.
No liquid detergent. No powder. No pods. No homemade stuff either.
And still the sheet came out perfectly clean. It just boggles my mind how well this works. Let me explain.
Husband’s disgusting gear
My husband works in construction. All of his clothes are disgusting. I've tried every detergent brand in the store and also a few homemade detergent recipes. But it would always take a double dose of even the harshest detergent to make his work clothes smell decent.

I have used it for over a year & it still is cleaning. I've heard you can put them in the sun for an hour once a month to refresh it. Best thing I did was buy the Laundry Masher. Have saved lots of money & clothes are clean. I've also noticed I don't have as much "fuzz" in the dryer lint tray.
